A Russian airstrike claimed the lives of two of our colleagues — energy workers in the Donetsk region. Just a few hours ago, Russian terrorists launched a guided aerial bomb at the territory of the Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant.

Tragically, as a result of this insidious attack, our colleagues Serhii Diachenko and Mykhailo Hryhoriev lost their lives. Five other employees of the plant sustained injuries. The strike also damaged equipment in the plant’s engineering and laboratory building.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk took part in the opening of the G7 Energy Ministers’ Summit in Toronto, where she provided partners with a detailed overview of the challenges and needs of Ukraine’s energy system.

“Over the past months, Russia has waged a deliberate campaign to destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Just last night, our energy system suffered a combined attack — more than 650 drones and over 50 missiles of various types,” she emphasized.

The event will gather government officials, international organizations, investors, businesses, and technology leaders to shape a common vision for Ukraine’s sustainable energy future.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk began her work at the G7 Energy and Environment Ministers’ Summit taking place in Toronto, Canada. Over the next two days, a series of meetings and negotiations are planned to focus on strengthening global energy security.

“The central focus of the discussions is countering Russia’s energy terror. We are working on practical steps to enhance Ukraine’s energy resilience — assistance with equipment, increasing natural gas imports, and strengthening air defense systems,” the Minister noted.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a meeting with the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Juozas Olekas.

The parties focused on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy system, as well as the need for additional equipment to restore facilities damaged by Russian attacks.

The Speaker reaffirmed that Lithuania will continue to support Ukraine in these areas.

On behalf of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, First Deputy Minister Artem Nekrasov conducted a working visit to the Kharkiv region to assess the condition of the energy infrastructure and outline further steps for its restoration.

Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk took part in a meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, all members of the Government, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk. During the meeting, ministers reported on the first one hundred days of the renewed Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the key tasks for the next hundred days.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk spoke live on the national telethon “United News” about the current state of the energy system, preparations for the winter, and international partners’ support.

The Minister noted that the situation in the energy system remains under control. At the same time, to prevent overloads, scheduled hourly power outages continue to be applied in some regions.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy has presented state awards to Ukrainian energy workers. The announcement was made by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk on her official Facebook page.

Ukraine’s energy companies have successfully completed a large-scale repair campaign at all energy facilities across the country, restoring more than 10 GW of generating capacity and fully forming the planned reserves of fuel and lubricants.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk during a briefing attended by Deputy Minister for Communities and Territorial Development Kostyantyn Kovalchuk, Chairman of the Management Board of NPC Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaychenko, and Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky.
