Every consumer has the right to freely choose their natural gas supplier.
Steps a consumer should take to change the supplier:
To terminate the contract with the current supplier:
- Notify the current supplier about the intention to terminate or suspend the gas supply contract;
- Conclude an agreement on the termination (or suspension) of the contract. The termination or suspension date must precede the date of signing a contract with the new supplier;
- Perform a reconciliation of mutual settlements with the current supplier and receive a reconciliation act;
- Obtain a certificate from the current supplier confirming the absence of overdue debt under the contract.
To conclude a contract with a new supplier:
- Submit an application to conclude a contract specifying your personal EIC code and the expected volume(s) of natural gas consumption for the contract period;
- Provide a properly certified copy of the document confirming ownership or usage rights to the consumer’s facility;
- Submit copies of documents certifying the status of the legal entity or individual entrepreneur, the authorized person for signing the contract, and registration with controlling authorities;
- Provide a certificate (reconciliation act) confirming the absence of overdue debt for gas supplied by the current supplier;
- Must have a gas distribution agreement with the distribution system operator (DSO).
The supplier change procedure takes place within 21 days.
