The Netherlands has announced an additional EUR 35 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total support through the Fund to EUR 100 million.
The additional funding will be directed to the Ray of Hope initiative and used to install rooftop solar power systems. The project aims to ensure a reliable electricity supply for critical infrastructure - primarily hospitals - even in the event of emergency power outages following Russian attacks.
“We thank the Netherlands for its unwavering support for Ukraine’s energy sector,” said Denys Shmyhal, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy.
To date, total contributions pledged by international partners to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund exceed EUR 1.8 billion. At the same time, due to continued targeted attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the needs of the energy sector continue to grow.
