How to change your supplier

Since July 1, 2021, the procedure for changing energy suppliers in Ukraine has been greatly simplified. Consumers need to interact only with the selected (new) supplier.

Both residents of private houses and apartment buildings are eligible to change their energy supplier.

Steps for consumers to change their supplier:

  • Choose a new supplier and review their commercial offer on the official website.
  • Submit a standard connection application to the new supplier – online via the supplier’s website, by email, or in person at the company’s office.
  • Provide identification and ownership documents, such as passport, tax ID (INN), and proof of property ownership (house or apartment).

Within 20 days, the new supplier reviews the documents, completes the necessary procedures for registering the consumer, and decides on concluding or refusing the supply contract.

After the procedure is completed, the new supplier must notify the consumer in writing within 3 business days about the start date of energy supply.

The consumer is required to fully settle all payments with the previous supplier, who must issue the final bill within 6 weeks from the date of supplier change. Payment must be made within 10 days.
