First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat. The discussion focused on consolidating partner efforts and preparing Ukraine for the upcoming heating season.
Denys Shmyhal noted that since its establishment, the Secretariat has mobilized more than EUR 1.8 billion in partner contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, enabling Ukrainian energy companies to receive critical equipment and specialized machinery.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Energy, together with the Energy Community Secretariat, will consolidate all urgent requests from the Ukrainian energy sector to ensure the rapid mobilization of additional international assistance.
“The first priority is securing resources to restore thermal power plants in Kyiv and Kharkiv,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Another key priority, he said, is the creation of strategic equipment reserves in warehouses to ensure that critical components are available in advance. The possibility of establishing a dedicated coordination group for energy support to Ukraine will also be examined in detail.
“I am grateful to the Energy Community Secretariat and Artur Lorkowski for their consistent support of Ukraine’s energy stability and their readiness to work together,” Denys Shmyhal concluded.
