Energy efficiency measures allow households to save 35–40% on utility bills or energy costs.
Since November 2021, a new Basic Law on Energy Efficiency has been in effect in Ukraine. The law introduces a range of innovations that facilitate the implementation of energy-efficient technologies in everyday life and allow for better monitoring of energy consumption.
To provide objective information to the public on energy efficiency, the law introduces a new format for utility bills. These bills will include detailed information on consumption, including comparisons with last year’s usage, available energy efficiency programs, and the quality of natural gas and electricity supply services.
This will help consumers assess their energy usage and choose ways to save.
In addition, the introduction of new eco-design and energy labeling standards for household electrical appliances will allow consumers to select the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly devices for their homes.
We remind that energy efficiency is not only a way to save on utilities and home heating, but also a contribution to combating climate change and strengthening energy security. Each energy efficiency measure brings Ukraine closer to energy independence.
