- Over the past week, the enemy carried out daily attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities. The energy system sustained one massive attack and more than 43 targeted strikes, with approximately 118 cases of network damage recorded. Russia attacked Naftogaz Group facilities four times, including the Kherson Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP), which is the city’s sole source of heat supply. Consequence mitigation efforts are ongoing, and one CHPP employee is receiving medical assistance.

Overnight, the enemy continued attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in several regions of Ukraine. Repair crews are working to restore damaged equipment to operation as quickly as possible.

In Kyiv, electricity supply is gradually being restored to consumers who were left without power as a result of hostile shelling. On the right bank of the city, scheduled outage schedules have already been resumed, while on the left bank emergency power outages remain in effect.

- Overnight, the enemy carried out a massive attack on Ukraine’s energy and civilian infrastructure. Facilities of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Region were targeted. In total, the enemy used nearly 500 attack UAVs and around 40 missiles, including Kinzhal-type missiles. Attacks continued throughout the day.

As a result, consumers in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv Region, and Chernihiv Region have been left without electricity. As soon as the security situation allows, emergency services and power engineers will begin eliminating the consequences of the attack in order to restore electricity supply in the affected regions.

In its genocidal war, Russia is once again trying to plunge Ukraine into darkness and cold. We call on the international community to take action and increase pressure on the aggressor state.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine strongly condemns the illegal actions of the Russian Federation aimed at yet another attempt to legitimize the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant through the issuance of a so-called “license” for the operation of one of its power units.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has transferred €63.82 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The total contributions from SIDA to the Fund now amount to €203.08 million, of which €44.68 million were allocated to a separate special account to ensure nuclear safety.

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk, a meeting of the Multistakeholder Group on the Implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) was held, during which the EITI Ukraine National Report for 2024 was approved.

The report was prepared in accordance with the updated EITI Standard, which came into force in January 2025 and significantly expanded the scope and depth of disclosure requirements.

The enemy carried out attacks on generation facilities and electricity transmission and distribution networks in several regions. As a result, as of the morning, consumers are without power in Donetsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions. Energy workers are working to restore electricity supply as quickly as possible.

Due to continuous attacks by the Russian Federation, consumption limitation measures are currently applied in almost all regions of Ukraine to help balance the energy system.

On Christmas night, the enemy continued attacks on Ukraine’s energy system. As a result, consumers are without power in Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions (in Odesa, outages are due to previous attacks). Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore all damaged equipment and reconnect all consumers as quickly as possible. Emergency repair and restoration work continues around the clock.

Despite the enemy’s attempts to deprive us of warmth and joy, to prevent us from decorating the Christmas tree and lighting festive lights, we celebrate Christmas with faith in the victory of Good and Light. The greatest light is in the human soul, and it is indestructible.

At this time, everyone is waiting for a miracle. But the true miracles are our people, our defenders, and our unwavering energy workers. We are grateful to each of them!
