First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal paid a working visit to a key power facility in western Ukraine. He inspected existing protective structures and the construction of new fortified facilities, outlining concrete steps to strengthen the resilience of the energy system.
During the visit, representatives of energy companies reported on ongoing restoration works. Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukrainian engineers are already implementing innovative technical solutions, with critical equipment being supplied through the Ministry of Energy’s hubs. Additional needs and development projects of state-owned energy companies were discussed separately.
“Ukraine is part of the ENTSO-E integrated European electricity market. We aim to further increase import capacity from the EU and, in the future, resume exports. Ukraine has significant potential that must be realized,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
The Minister also highlighted the involvement of energy workers in humanitarian initiatives, including the Heat Package state program, and thanked them for their support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for round-the-clock repairs of equipment damaged by Russian attacks.
