Mission, functions, tasks

The mission of the Ministry of Energy is to reliably provide consumers with clean, safe, affordable energy.

Functions of the Ministry of Energy:

  • shaping and implementation of state policy in the electric power sector, nuclear and coal industries, peat mining, oil and gas sector and oil and gas processing complex;
  • shaping and implementation of state policy in the field of effective use of fuel and energy resources, energy preservation, renewable energy sources and alternative types of fuel (except for issues of ensuring the energy efficiency of buildings and other structures) and in terms of supervision (control) regarding electricity and heat supply.

The main tasks of the Ministry of Energy:

  1. ensuring the shaping and implementation of state policy in the fuel and energy complex;
  2. ensuring the shaping and implementation of state policy in the field of effective use of fuel and energy resources, energy preservation, renewable energy sources and alternative types of fuel;
  3. ensuring the shaping and implementation of state policy in terms of supervision (control) regarding electricity and heat supply;
  4. implementation of state management in the field of nuclear energy use and radiation safety.
