Following the latest massive shelling by the Russian Federation, the situation in Ukraine’s energy system remains extremely difficult. Energy facilities in several regions were targeted. Damage to high-voltage substations forced nuclear power plants to reduce generation, and emergency power outages are currently in effect across most regions.
Repair works are underway at all damaged facilities. Energy companies are making every effort to restore electricity and heat supplies to consumers as quickly as possible.
At the same time, the electricity supply situation remains critical. The additional loss of generation caused by the night attack has created a significant power deficit that is extremely difficult to compensate, making the coming days particularly challenging.
In Kyiv, residents currently receive electricity for limited periods - approximately one and a half to two hours per day. Energy companies continue working to balance the power system, while the city is deploying additional support points in each district to assist residents.
