Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid has provided Ukraine with a new batch of equipment to support the restoration of the national energy system. The assistance was collected from various regions across Lithuania and successfully delivered to Ukraine.

The shipment includes critical components needed for the repair of substations and power transmission lines, which will enhance the stability and resilience of the energy system. The equipment will be used for urgent restoration works on damaged networks.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Vadym Zhykh, an electrician born in 1980, who worked at the Inhulskа Mine of the Eastern Mining and Processing Plant (SkhidGZK) and tragically died as a result of an accident.

The incident occurred at the mine on 11 November, after which contact was lost with two employees. As a result of emergency search operations, on 17 November the body of one of them was found. The deceased miner’s body has been brought to the surface. Emergency search efforts are ongoing.

The Naftogaz Group and the Greek state-owned company DEPA Commercial have signed a Letter of Intent on the supply of natural gas to Ukraine for the winter period of 2025–2026.

This step reflects the Ukrainian Government’s systematic efforts to secure sufficient natural gas volumes in underground storage and to strengthen the country’s energy resilience ahead of the heating season.

In the Chernihiv region, following massive Russian shelling, the number of consumers left without electricity has been reduced by half in a short period of time. This was reported by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk during a broadcast of the national telethon United News.

On the second day of the ReBuild Ukraine 2025 International Exhibition, the delegation of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine — consisting of Deputy Ministers Roman Andarak, Olha Yukhymchuk and Mykola Kolisnyk — took part in a series of events aimed at developing Ukraine’s energy sector and attracting investment for its modernization and transformation.

In particular, the Deputy Ministers held several meetings with international partners and representatives of foreign companies.

On 14 November, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant lost power from one of its two external transmission lines — the 750 kV ZNPP–Dniprovska line, which is the main source of electricity supply for the temporarily occupied plant. This line had only been restored on 23 October after a month-long blackout.

The station’s external power supply is once again at risk. In the event of a complete disconnection from the power system, ZNPP could face yet another — the eleventh — blackout.

The incident occurred as the team was en route to a damaged facility. The vehicle was a civilian car clearly marked with the energy company’s insignia. Fortunately, all four employees survived.

On the first day of the ReBuild Ukraine 2025 International Exhibition, which is taking place in Warsaw, the Ukrainian delegation successfully held a series of events aimed at restoring, rebuilding, and modernizing the Ukrainian energy sector. Deputy Ministers Roman Andarak, Olga Yukhymchuk, and Mykola Kolisnyk are participating in the events on behalf of the Ministry of Energy.

Among the results:

More than 6,000 participants from 33 countries are taking part in the event, which brings together representatives of governments, international organizations, investors, businesses, and technology companies to shape a shared vision for Ukraine’s energy future.

The conference was opened by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak, and First Deputy Minister for Communities and Territorial Development Alona Shkrum.

Why are outages being applied?

The large-scale missile and drone attacks carried out by Russia against the Ukrainian power system in October–November resulted in significant losses of available capacity due to the destruction or damage of generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.
