Ukraine has received an additional batch of humanitarian assistance from the Republic of Azerbaijan, including 11 generators with a total capacity of 2.4 MW.

The equipment has been delivered to key healthcare and emergency facilities in Kyiv, including specialized hospitals, the polyclinic of the Bogomolets National Medical University, the National Institute of Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Allergology, city clinical hospitals, emergency medical services, and diagnostic centers.

During the handover ceremony, Deputy Ministers of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk and Valentyna Moskalenko expressed gratitude to Seymur Mardaliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine, for Azerbaijan’s continued support.

"We are grateful to Azerbaijan for these generators, which are part of the latest humanitarian aid package sent in January. The equipment provided will strengthen the resilience of our social and medical infrastructure at a time when russia is targeting Ukraine's energy sector during the most severe frosts. In the current circumstances, reliable backup power generation for healthcare facilities is of critical humanitarian importance," said Mykola Kolisnyk.

“By ensuring uninterrupted power supply to medical and social institutions, these generators will provide vital support to patients, medical staff, and vulnerable groups of the population. Ukraine greatly appreciates this assistance from Azerbaijan, as well as previous shipments received from partners,” emphasized Valentyna Moskalenko.

Since March 2022, Ukraine has received 149 humanitarian shipments from Azerbaijan totaling over 2,300 tonnes of energy equipment, with an estimated value of approximately EUR 10.5 million.

The backup power units, power transformers, transformer substations, cable products, and other equipment provided by Azerbaijan have supported repair and restoration works at damaged facilities and helped maintain the stability of Ukraine’s energy system.
