Thanks to the continuous work of repair crews and rising temperatures, there is a positive trend in improving the electricity supply situation. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Emergency Response Headquarters in Kyiv and the region.
According to Denys Shmyhal, more than 200 crews are currently working in Kyiv to restore heat and electricity supply.
“At the same time, we have information that the enemy is preparing new strikes against the energy sector. Therefore, the task for all services is not only rapid restoration but also maximum readiness for upcoming challenges,” he noted.
Participants of the meeting also discussed the elimination of the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities in Odesa, as well as in frontline regions, where the challenges remain the greatest.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy emphasized that cooperation with international partners on equipment supplies is ongoing on a daily basis.
He added that following a visit to France, the Ministry of Energy team reached agreements to attract EUR 600 million to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience. Ukrainian engineers and technical specialists have already been dispatched to Europe to inspect six power plants, equipment from which can be delivered to Ukraine in the shortest possible time.
“We are grateful to our partners for their support. We thank the Ukrainian Armed Forces for their protection. We thank our energy workers and repair crews for their dedication. Light will prevail,” the Minister of Energy stressed.
