The Ministry of Energy has informed the IAEA about all the circumstances of russia’s overnight attack on the New Safe Confinement of Chornobyl NPP Unit 4 and urged the international community to intensify efforts to force russia to stop terrorist attacks on nuclear facilities.

As a result of a russian strike drone hitting the New Safe Confinement, significant damage has been inflicted. All respective services are working at the scene. At present, radiation levels have not changed, and radiation monitoring is being conducted continuously.

Ukraine welcomes the successful synchronization of the power systems of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia with the Synchronous Area of Continental Europe (CESA), which is of exceptional significance not only for strengthening the resilience of the Baltic countries' energy systems, as they have now become part of the European energy space, but also for enhancing the energy security of the entire region.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, together with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation led by Director General Rafael Grossi, and accompanied by Acting Chairman of the Board of NPC "Ukrenergo" Oleksii Brekht, Acting Head of NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin, and Head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine Oleh Korikov, visited one of the key power transmission facilities critical for the safe operation of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants.

France has allocated €5.7 million to Ukraine Energy Support Fund for the development of Ukraine's nuclear sector.

The agreement was signed by Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, and Pierre Heilbronn, France’s Special Envoy for Assistance and Reconstruction of Ukraine, in the presence of Ukraine's Minister of Energy, German Galushchenko, during the international Rebuild Ukraine Construction and Energy 2024 Conference in Warsaw.

Australia will allocate another €6 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total contribution to over €18 million.

This was announced by the country's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong, during her visit to Kyiv.

At a meeting with Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, Penny Wong assured that Australia will continue to support Ukraine and its energy sector. She also condemned russian attacks on energy infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of countering such actions.
