Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine participated in an event presenting the results of the development of the Industrial Control Systems Laboratory (ISSP – Information Systems Security Partners Training Center – ICS Laboratory), a unique initiative in Ukraine aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of specialists in critical infrastructure cybersecurity. The laboratory has been implemented with the support of international partners.
Participants discussed challenges, plans, and strategic priorities for strengthening the cyber resilience of Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector.
It should be noted that energy sector cybersecurity is a matter of national security and strategic stability.
Ukraine’s fuel and energy complex is one of the primary targets of the aggressor. Missile and drone strikes on critical infrastructure are often combined with large-scale cyberattacks and information operations aimed at destroying Ukraine’s integrated energy system.
Improving the regulatory framework for energy sector cybersecurity, sharing information on cyber threats, and international partnership are key tasks for the Ministry of Energy to ensure the cyber resilience of Ukraine’s energy sector.
