The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a bilateral meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi. The parties met in Vienna, Austria, where a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors is taking place.

After three years of russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine and the russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, nuclear and radiation safety threats remain extremely high. Continuous incidents caused by shelling and the criminal actions of the aggressor state pose a significant danger.

Ukraine continues to work on the green transformation of its energy sector and the expansion of renewable energy capacities.

As part of his working visit to Vienna, where the IAEA Board of Governors meeting is taking place, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the Ambassadors of the G7 countries.

The parties discussed critically important issues of nuclear and radiation safety against the backdrop of ongoing russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The funds from the Government of Australia will be allocated to key urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held an online meeting with Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson.

The parties discussed the situation in Ukraine’s energy system in light of ongoing russian attacks and possible avenues of assistance.

"We have endured another wartime winter. Despite russia’s targeted attacks, which have been ongoing for more than three years, Ukraine’s energy system remains intact and continues to meet consumer needs," noted German Galushchenko.

The rotation of the expert mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant cannot take place without the approval of the Ukrainian authorities and in violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It contradicts international law and Ukraine’s national legislation.

This is stated in an official letter from the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, to the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi.

The European Commission will assist Ukraine in financing gas purchases, including through the Ukraine Facility in cooperation with implementing partners. This will increase gas reserves to ensure supply security, benefiting both Ukraine and the entire region.

This is one of the key points of the new support package for Ukraine, aimed at strengthening the country's energy system and ensuring its full integration into the European energy market. The package was presented by the European Commission leadership on February 24 in Kyiv.

During a working visit to Brussels, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the Director of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood (DG ENEST), Jan Koopman.

The parties discussed issues related to ensuring the region's energy security, particularly the supply and creation of new strategic reserves of natural gas.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Reconstruction and Resilience of Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia.

During the meeting, the Minister briefed the Italian Special Envoy on the current state of Ukraine's fuel and energy sector and the consequences of regular russian attacks on the energy system.
