France will provide Ukraine with EUR 71 million in grant financial assistance, part of which will be directed to support Ukraine’s energy sector. The agreement was reached between First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry, Energy and Digital Sovereignty of France Roland Lescure. On the margins of the International Energy Agency events in Paris, Denys Shmyhal and Roland Lescure also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Ukraine and the French Republic in the field of nuclear energy.

The Government has introduced an annual award for those who ensure energy resilience. From now on, up to 50 sector employees will receive an additional remuneration of UAH 200,000 each year.

The award for a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience will be granted to employees of all electricity sector enterprises, regardless of ownership.

On the margins of the IEA Ministerial Meeting, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

As Denys Shmyhal noted, the document opens new opportunities for cooperation in nuclear and renewable energy, the oil and gas sector, infrastructure recovery and protection, energy efficiency, and innovation.

- As of this morning, consumers in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions remain without electricity as a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure.

- In Odesa region, following previous enemy attacks on energy infrastructure, the situation remains difficult. Restoration works are ongoing.

- Due to severe weather conditions, more than 458 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions remain without electricity.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a series of bilateral meetings with international partners during his working visit to France, where he is participating in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Ministerial Meeting.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine informs that, as of today, the diesel fuel market remains stable and fully supplied.

Thanks to the systematic diversification of supply sources and the coordinated work of market participants, Ukraine has sufficient volumes of diesel fuel to meet consumer demand. Any statements regarding a potential shortage are unfounded and do not reflect the actual situation.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko briefed Alain Berset on the extent of the damage and outlined the current needs for continued restoration and repair works at the facility.
