The development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is among the key priorities of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, primarily in the context of strengthening the country’s energy security and reducing its dependence on imported energy resources.

Measures to promote electromobility are outlined, in particular, in the National Renewable Energy Action Plan until 2030, the National Energy and Climate Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

The situation in Ukraine’s power system remains under control, and no emergency outage schedules have been introduced in any region by the Dispatch Center of Ukrenergo, the national transmission system operator. At the same time, the restoration work of energy crews continues to be complicated by constant enemy shelling.

This was reported by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk during a broadcast of the national telethon “United News.”

The introduction of small modular reactors (SMRs) represents a key opportunity for Ukraine to strengthen its energy security and transition to carbon-free power generation, according to Artem Nekrasov, First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

He made this statement during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing, and Utilities, where members of parliament presented a draft law outlining the principles for introducing SMRs in Ukraine.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk conducted a working visit to energy facilities that sustained damage as a result of Russian acts of terror. During the visit, she received detailed reports on the progress of restoration efforts and instructed officials to develop mechanisms and technical solutions to enhance the physical protection of power generation facilities.

The Government of Ukraine has extended the validity of the Regulation on the Imposition of Special Obligations (PSO) on entities operating in the natural gas market until 31 March 2026.

The decision also extends the fixed gas prices established to support households and electricity producers. This measure will ensure the reliable, uninterrupted, and safe supply of natural gas, as well as the security and stability of the natural gas market and Ukraine’s energy system.

Despite another massive Russian missile strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the national power system remains under control. Energy workers have already begun restoring electricity supply in the affected regions, Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk reported during a broadcast of the “Yedyni Novyny” national telethon.

Restoration work in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, has been completed as of 12:00, according to Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk. Special emergency outage schedules in Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions have been canceled, although regular power cut schedules remain in place. Energy workers have also restored electricity to 270,000 customers in Kyiv.

The United States continues to stand as a reliable partner of Ukraine in strengthening energy security and ensuring the successful completion of the upcoming heating season, said Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

During the discussions, the parties focused on key priorities for cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution “On Approval of the Regulations on the Nuclear Insurance Pool.” The document, developed by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, was prepared in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage and Its Financial Security.” Its adoption restores regulatory oversight of the activities of the Nuclear Insurance Pool, which is a key mechanism ensuring the financial security of nuclear facility operators in the event of nuclear damage.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a plan developed by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to ensure stable operation of the country’s regions during the 2025–2026 autumn-winter period.
