At its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, adopted a protocol decision regarding problematic issues related to the operation of SE “SkhidGZK.” These issues had previously been discussed during the visit of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal to the Dnipropetrovsk region and his inspection of the enterprise’s production facilities.

According to Denys Shmyhal, a number of measures are planned jointly with the State Property Fund of Ukraine and NNEGC Energoatom to stabilize and strengthen SE “SkhidGZK”:

First, to ensure the supply of sulphuric acid required for the enterprise’s production needs.

Second, to address the issue of debt owed to Energoatom by reviewing the terms of existing contracts.

Third, to consider the possibility of enabling Energoatom to cover the costs of SE “SkhidGZK” through advance payments in order to support the renewal and modernization of the enterprise’s production capacities.

“Our goal is to stabilize and strengthen this strategic enterprise, whose operation is essential for the future of our nuclear energy sector and for Ukraine’s energy security,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
