Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Ayşe Berris Ekinci to discuss prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.

Anatolii Kutsevol informed his counterpart about the current state of Ukraine’s energy sector and the consequences of continuous Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. He expressed gratitude to Türkiye for the humanitarian shipments of energy equipment delivered to Ukraine and outlined the current needs of Ukrainian energy companies.

The Deputy Minister presented Ukraine’s vision for the future development of its energy sector, emphasizing that Ukraine’s future energy infrastructure will be based on nuclear energy, accompanied by significant development of renewable energy sources and supported by distributed generation, primarily gas-fired generation.

The parties discussed opportunities for engaging Turkish partners in relevant projects. They also addressed prospects for cooperation in strengthening the protection of energy infrastructure facilities and in the field of nuclear energy.

Special attention during the meeting was devoted to deepening cooperation in the oil and gas sector. The discussions covered LNG supplies, diversification of supply routes, the development potential of the Vertical Corridor, and other cooperation projects in the Black Sea region.

In addition, the deputy ministers discussed preparations for a Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and Türkiye in the field of energy, the draft of which was developed following agreements reached by the Presidents of the two countries.
