Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol briefed a German delegation led by Head of the German Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Tasks Thorsten Frei on the consequences of Russian attacks on one of Kyiv’s combined heat and power plants.
During the visit, Anatolii Kutsevol demonstrated to the German representatives the scale of destruction caused by massive Russian strikes and informed them about ongoing recovery works and preparations of the energy system for the upcoming heating season.
He also briefed the partners on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy sector, emphasizing that russia continues systematically targeting electricity generation and transmission facilities in an attempt to deprive Ukrainians of electricity and heating. Despite these attacks, Ukrainian energy workers continue round-the-clock efforts to restore damaged equipment.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to Germany for its consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector and for assistance in supplying equipment necessary for the recovery and strengthening of the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system.
He stressed that international support remains critically important for successfully navigating the upcoming autumn-winter period and ensuring the long-term recovery of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
