On the Sidelines of the IAEA General Conference, Svitlana Grynchuk Held a Series of Meetings with International Partners

On the sidelines of the 69th IAEA General Conference, Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk met with the heads of delegations from Poland, the United Kingdom, France, Estonia, the Netherlands, as well as representatives of the European Commission.

In particular, during talks with Poland’s Deputy Minister of Energy – Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Wojciech Wrochny, the Minister discussed the development of nuclear energy and limiting Russian energy supplies to the EU.

Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grynchuk, met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna.

During the dialogue, they discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, including the development of new nuclear generation capacities in Ukraine, advancement of the uranium industry, the introduction of U.S. technologies, and the diversification of gas supply sources and routes. According to the Minister, these measures will strengthen Ukraine’s energy security and enhance its position in European and global energy markets.

Deputy Ministers of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak and Olha Yukhymchuk held a meeting with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led by EBRD Managing Director for Ukraine and Moldova, Arvid Tuerkner. Ukraine Launches 200 MW Energy Storage System Complex

Ukraine has launched the largest energy storage system complex with a capacity of 200 MW, built by DTEK in partnership with the U.S. company Fluence Energy B.V.

The complex includes six facilities located in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, constructed in a record time of just one year. The project’s investment amounted to €125 million.

Overall, the system can store 400 MWh of electricity, enough to supply 600,000 households for two hours.
