Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk took part in a closed ministerial session of P-TEC and spoke at the panel discussion “Partnership for Energy: Supporting Ukraine’s Energy System Under Attack” on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation in Athens.

The Minister stressed that abandoning Russian energy resources and technologies is one of the key steps to stop financing the terrorist state that kills Ukrainian civilians every day, including energy workers.

During the Ministerial Meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC), Naftogaz Group and Poland’s ORLEN signed an agreement for the supply of at least 300 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.

“We are grateful to our partners from the United States and Poland for their strong support in strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience at a time when Russia continues its daily attacks on our energy and gas infrastructure,” said Svitlana Grynchuk, Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

Ukraine continues to expand the geography of its gas supply routes, said Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk during the Ministerial Meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC), held in Athens and focused on gas route diversification and energy security.

Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak participated in a coordination meeting on support for frontline communities, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery Oleksiy Kuleba. The meeting brought together community leaders, heads of military administrations, and representatives of relevant ministries.

The discussion took place in the context of Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko’s instructions to prepare a new package of support measures for territories located near the frontline.

High-level representatives of the governments of Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and the United States held a working meeting on the sidelines of the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) in Athens, Greece. Ukraine was represented by Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to expand the supply of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to European markets through LNG import terminals and FSRU infrastructure in the Baltic Sea region.

Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk visited the Odesa region to discuss measures to protect the region’s energy infrastructure, preparations for stable operations during the winter period, and urgent needs for restoring power facilities damaged by Russian attacks. The discussions were held together with the leadership of the Odesa Regional Military Administration and representatives of regional energy companies.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk announced the completion of works to ensure uninterrupted power supply in 20 medical institutions across the country under the “Ray of Hope” programme.

During a visit to one of the hospitals in the Odesa region, where a solar generation system and energy storage have recently been installed, the Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining stable energy supply, especially in regions affected by frequent shelling.

As a result of another Russian attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region, eight coal mines were left without power. At the time of the incident, 2,595 miners were underground.

Rescue teams and mine personnel promptly organized the evacuation of workers to the surface. According to preliminary reports, there are no casualties or injuries.

On the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has improved the mechanism for providing state support to individuals installing renewable energy generation systems — such as solar and wind power units — in their households.

The respective amendments were approved to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 673 dated June 7, 2024.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksandr Vyazovchenko took part in the First International Forum on Critical Infrastructure Protection, organized with the support of the U.S. Civil Research and Development Foundation (CRDF). The event gathered more than 750 participants, including over 600 representatives of the National Critical Infrastructure Protection System and more than 60 delegates from international partner organizations representing 18 countries.
