Ukraine continues to restore its energy infrastructure, which has suffered massive destruction as a result of more than three years of full-scale war. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olha Yukhymchuk during the high-level event “Energy Resilience and Green Recovery in Ukraine” held within the framework of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukrainee and theUnited Nations Development Programme (UNDP)).

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine participated in an event presenting the results of the development of the Industrial Control Systems Laboratory (ISSP – Information Systems Security Partners Training Center – ICS Laboratory), a unique initiative in Ukraine aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of specialists in critical infrastructure cybersecurity. The laboratory has been implemented with the support of international partners.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak, on the sidelines of the “Roadmaps to New Nuclear Energy 2025” Conference in Paris, held a meeting with the informal group of representatives of OECD - OCDE member states “OECD Friends of Ukraine.”

He informed participants about the current situation in Ukraine’s energy sector and spoke about initiatives to restore the country’s energy system.

Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grynchuk, discussed the country’s energy system needs ahead of the winter season with Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatih Birol, at the Agency’s headquarters in Paris. The Minister shared details on her Facebook page.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk and Director-General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) William D. Magwood, on the sidelines of the "Roadmaps to New Nuclear 2025” Conference in Paris, discussed urgent nuclear safety risks in the region caused by russia’s ongoing shelling of Ukraine’s energy system. They also touched upon the current situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Svitlana Grynchuk emphasized that international efforts are crucial to prevent a catastrophe. The first priority is the demilitarization of the plant.

The 69th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted the resolution “Nuclear Safety, Nuclear Security and Safeguards in Ukraine.”

The document, supported by 62 member states, calls on the Russian Federation to immediately de-occupy and demilitarize the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and return it under the full control of the Ukrainian authorities.

Ukraine calls on the international community to reduce the influence of the Russian Federation on global energy markets and to support diversification of resources, particularly in the nuclear energy sector. Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk emphasized this at the “Roadmaps to New Nuclear Energy 2025” Conference in Paris.

Representatives of the EBRD, headed by the EBRD Managing Director for Ukraine and Moldova, Arvid Tuerkner, together with representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, visited the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

The participants inspected key facilities located in the Exclusion Zone and discussed further steps to ensure their nuclear and radiation safety.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the implementation of the experimental project on the distribution of humanitarian assistance received in the form of liquefied natural gas for household consumers in frontline regions. The decision was adopted within the framework of the implementation of the Actions Plan of the Government of Ukraine for 2025.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk, on the sidelines of the 69th International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference, held a meeting with the Permanent Representatives of the EU countries to the IAEA.

“In the conditions when Russia continues to deliberately shell Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, coordination of efforts with partner countries within the framework of the Agency is of exceptional importance,” Svitlana Grynchuk emphasized.
