Ukraine will receive from the Norwegian government nearly $100 million for natural gas procurement

The Norwegian government has decided to allocate nearly $100 million to Ukraine for the purchase of imported natural gas.

“The timely and systematic assistance of the Norwegian government is extremely important for ensuring Ukraine's energy security,” said Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Grynychuk. “This demonstrates the unwavering solidarity of our international partners and their willingness to assist in the implementation of energy projects and the strengthening of the independence of the Ukrainian energy sector.”

With the support of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, JSC "Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo", part of the JSC "Ukrainian Distribution Networks", has received the latest tranche of international humanitarian assistance from the Ukraine Energy Support Fund — an ISUZU aerial platform truck with a working height of 32 metres.

Increasing Challenges in Reactor Cooling Water Supply at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant – IAEA

Over the past two weeks, IAEA experts have reported a deterioration in the cooling system for the reactors at the russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which remain in a cold shutdown state.

“The team has observed the increasing challenges in ensuring a reliable supply of cooling water for the six reactors and their safety systems in cold shutdown, especially under current hot weather conditions, when the evaporation rate is high,” said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

Ukraine to Receive €500 Million from EBRD for Natural Gas Procurement – Svitlana Grynchuk

NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement for a revolving loan of €500 million. This is the largest project the EBRD has ever signed in Ukraine and one of the largest in the Bank’s history. The funds will be used to finance the procurement of imported natural gas.
