Our children are the most valuable thing we have, and their safety must remain a priority at all times and in all circumstances. It is the responsibility of adults to ensure this and to teach children how to respond appropriately in crisis situations.

As part of the National Accessibility Week, trainers from the European Society of Occupational Safety and Health (ESOSH) conducted the child safety course “Lion’s Protection” for the children of employees of the Ministry of Energy, the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, and energy sector enterprises.

The report summarizes the key decisions and developments of the month, including the EU’s adoption of the 20th sanctions package against Russia, new restrictions on imports of Russian liquefied natural gas, sanctions targeting vessels of the so-called “shadow fleet,” the use of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine, as well as an assessment of the impact of sanctions on Russia’s oil and gas budget revenues and the energy sector of the aggressor state.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, together with Head of the State Property Fund Dmytro Natalukha, held a meeting with the management of Centrenergo PJSC, Ukrvuhillia SE, and state-owned coal mining enterprises to discuss coal supplies for thermal generation in preparation for the winter period.

- As a result of ongoing hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure, a number of consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.

- Power engineers are working in an enhanced mode to restore electricity supply to all consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are ongoing around the clock.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has updated the rules governing auctions for state support of new renewable energy projects and increased the support quota for 2026. The corresponding amendments were introduced to Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 298 dated April 1, 2026.

Accordingly, in 2026 the state is prepared to support new renewable energy projects with a total capacity of up to 1 GW, including:

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal discussed the key priorities and objectives facing Ukrainian Distribution Networks JSC with the company’s renewed Supervisory Board.

“We identified the main areas of work. The key priorities include ensuring stable electricity supply to consumers, protecting equipment, preparing for the next winter season, and creating reserves of critical equipment,” the Minister of Energy stated.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko took part in the panel discussion “Energy Resilience: From Rapid Solutions to Investment Logic”, held during the International Summit of Cities and Regions within the framework of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.

During the discussion, participants addressed issues related to strengthening community energy resilience, developing distributed generation, restoring damaged energy infrastructure, and attracting investment into energy security projects.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine joined the thematic webinar “Barrier-Free Accessibility Begins with the Mind”, held as part of the National Accessibility Week.

The event brought together representatives of enterprises and institutions from the energy sector to discuss the psychological aspects of creating a barrier-free environment, developing inclusive communication, and promoting a people-centred approach in professional interaction.
