The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the allocation of UAH 281.3 million from the state budget reserve fund to provide state assistance to workers involved in emergency repair and restoration operations following the massive missile attacks by the Russian Federation in February 2026. More than 14,000 workers will receive assistance.
Ukraine and the Republic of Bulgaria have agreed to develop the Vertical Gas Corridor, which will significantly expand natural gas transmission capacities and enhance energy security in the South-Eastern European region. The agreement was reached by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Bulgaria Andrey Gyurov.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, during a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council of the EU Member States, outlined the key priorities for the recovery and medium-term development of Ukraine’s energy sector.
He emphasized that Ukraine’s strategic objective for the coming decade is to restore generation capacity to pre-war levels (55 GW) and to strengthen the country’s role in ensuring Europe’s energy security.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, speaking at the Bucha Forum dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region from Russian occupation, underscored the need to hold all those responsible for war crimes—particularly acts of energy terror—to account.
The Assembly of Donors to the International Cooperation Account has decided to reallocate €30 million from the administrative budget to prepare the necessary engineering solutions and to procure, in advance, the equipment required to restore the functionality of the New Safe Confinement (NSC). The decision was adopted in London during a meeting attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol.
- As a result of drone attacks targeting energy infrastructure facilities, a significant number of consumers in the Sumy region remain without electricity supply. Due to the ongoing attack, energy workers are currently unable to begin restoration works. Recovery efforts will commence immediately once the security situation stabilizes.
- Additionally, a number of consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kharkiv regions are temporarily without electricity.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal took part in commemorative events marking the fourth anniversary of the liberation of the city of Bucha, Kyiv region, from Russian occupation.
Together with the President and the First Lady of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the Prime Minister, and international guests, participants honored the memory of those who lost their lives during the tragic events.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece for Economic Diplomacy Haris Theocharis. Representatives of Ukrainian state-owned energy companies and Greek businesses also took part in the meeting.
- As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.
- Energy workers are operating in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply to all consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are ongoing around the clock.

First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal took part in intergovernmental Ukrainian-Bulgarian consultations and held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Traycho Traykov.
The parties discussed further deepening cooperation in the energy sector.
Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Bulgaria for preparing a humanitarian assistance package of energy equipment to support the repair of Ukrainian power facilities, noting that this contribution is important for preparations for the upcoming heating season.
