Between January and mid-June 2026, 21 healthcare facilities began generating their own electricity as part of the implementation of the “Ray of Hope” project. The total installed capacity of the commissioned solar power plants amounts to 1,820 kW.

Currently, a further 100 facilities are at various stages of implementation, 7 healthcare institutions are in the final stage of completion, and 151 medical facilities are undergoing the development of technical solutions.

The commissioning of solar generation at 21 healthcare facilities was made possible through international support. In particular, 15 facilities were financed by Germany, 5 by Sweden, and 1 by the United Kingdom.

The “Ray of Hope” programme is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It is being implemented through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund under the coordination of the Energy Community Secretariat.

The programme aims to enhance the energy resilience of healthcare institutions by providing them with solar panels, energy storage systems, and other equipment necessary to ensure reliable electricity supply and uninterrupted operation even under challenging conditions.
