On the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC) in Gdańsk, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Poland’s Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka. The meeting was also attended by the heads of Ukraine’s state-owned energy companies — Ukrenergo, Naftogaz, and the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) — as well as their Polish counterparts.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the Polish side for organizing the energy component of the conference in Gdańsk and emphasized that a number of important energy agreements are expected to be signed during the event.

The parties discussed the development of cross-border energy connections in the context of Ukraine’s new Energy Strategy and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation across a range of areas, including the construction of new interconnectors.

“We discussed expanding cooperation in the gas and oil sectors. Ukraine’s priorities include the development of LNG supply routes and deeper integration into European markets. We are establishing joint working groups to advance strategic projects in the oil and gas sectors. In light of today’s energy challenges, cooperation between Ukraine and Poland is an important component of Europe’s energy security,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine also thanked Poland for its support to Ukraine’s energy sector in preparation for the upcoming winter.
