At the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Government has approved a resolution launching an experimental project to support employees of emergency repair and restoration crews who are currently restoring electricity, heat, and water supply to Ukrainian households and businesses.
This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.
Accelerating assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector was the key focus of an extraordinary meeting of the G7+ Coordination Group on Energy Support for Ukraine. The online meeting was attended by EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olivier Barrot, UK Minister of State for Europe Stephen Doughty, as well as senior representatives of partner countries and international financial institutions.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, together with Rafael Grossi, heard reports from the heads of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants and from the heads of IAEA missions operating at these facilities.
A meeting of the Headquarters for the Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies in Kyiv and the Kyiv region was held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal. Ukraine has received a new shipment of technical assistance weighing over 50 tons to restore its energy infrastructure, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal reported.
The fuel market in Ukraine is operating steadily and is fully supplied with the necessary resources, according to Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk.
He noted that the diversification of supply routes has ensured stable and uninterrupted logistics for light petroleum products, enabling continuous delivery to consumers.
- The situation in Ukraine’s energy system remains difficult. Repair crews of energy workers and heating utility employees are working continuously to eliminate the consequences of Russia’s ongoing attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.
- As a result of overnight enemy attacks, consumers in the Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions are without electricity as of this morning. Emergency repair and restoration works have commenced wherever the security situation allows.

On 22 January 1919, the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic united into an Independent and United Ukraine.
“Millions of Ukrainians demonstrated unity for the shared desire to live in one state. Unity has been, is, and will remain our greatest strength — in repelling Russian aggression, protecting our homeland, and restoring what has been destroyed,” emphasized First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
