The procedure for changing a gas supplier for household consumers is defined in Section V of the Rules for the Supply of Natural Gas, approved by the resolution of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NКREKP) dated 30.09.2015 № 2496, registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on 06.11.2015 under № 1382/27827.
The consumer’s actions to change a gas supplier are fairly straightforward:
1. Choose a new gas supplier. Verify that the company is licensed to supply gas on the website of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities.
2. Submit a standard joining application to the new supplier. This can be done directly on the new supplier’s website or by sending a scanned/photographed application via email.
Along with the joining application, the consumer must provide the following documents to the supplier:
Documents confirming ownership or right of use of the property;
A personal identification document and the taxpayer identification number;
Other documents that the supplier may require (the list of which should be specified on the supplier’s website).
3. Wait for a notification from the new supplier regarding the date from which gas supply will commence.
4. Receive the final bill from the previous supplier within six weeks. Settle the bill with the previous supplier within ten days of receiving it. If you disagree with the issued bill, you may apply to the court.
