How is electricity restoration ensured in areas of active hostilities or occupied territories?

In the event of damage to power lines supplying transformer substations that provide electricity to consumers, emergency crews of the Distribution System Operator (DSO), upon receiving a relevant notification, are ready to deploy for repair work.

DSO crews restore electricity taking into account the security situation (active hostilities, proximity to the front line, presence of mines) and provided that military personnel ensure access and escort for the energy workers to damaged infrastructure facilities, if necessary.

Emergency restoration crews work around the clock and restore electricity as soon as shelling subsides, often working beyond normal working hours and at personal risk.
