We Need to Keep Working Together to Get Through the Upcoming Winter – President of Ukraine at URC 2025

10 July 2025, 14:51

We need to focus on energy and jointly overcome the energy challenges of the upcoming winter. This was emphasized by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his address at the opening of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2025) in Rome.

"Let’s focus on energy. Putin has only two real allies: terror and winter. We must respond to both," the President of Ukraine stated. "We have already gone through three winters of this full-scale war. And of course we are grateful to everyone who helped us. We need to keep working together to get through the next winter as well."

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also called on the conference participants to establish a Recovery Coalition, develop a clear reconstruction plan, and create a Special Recovery Fund.

It is worth noting that the delegation of the Ministry of Energy at URC 2025 is headed by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko. The Minister plans to hold meetings with international partners and sign a number of memoranda of cooperation and agreements aimed at strengthening the resilience of the energy system and attracting investment into the energy sector.
