Deputy Minister of Energy Valentyna Moskalenko held a meeting with Aida Lindemeier, Director of the Bureau of the International Labour Organization in Ukraine, to discuss cooperation in strengthening human capital in the energy sector.

The ILO announced the launch of a new project in Ukraine, “Protection and Training of Energy Sector Workers for Sustainable Recovery,” with the Ministry of Energy as the beneficiary.

The parties discussed implementation approaches and agreed on key areas of cooperation. ILO representatives noted that preliminary monitoring and consultations with public authorities, businesses, and energy sector workers had already been conducted.

Valentyna Moskalenko emphasized that training qualified personnel remains one of the key challenges for the energy sector, especially under conditions of ongoing attacks on infrastructure.

Particular attention was also paid to preparations for the next heating season, including strengthening repair teams and ensuring proper working conditions and protective equipment for personnel.

“We must proactively train specialists to work with new equipment and modern technologies, as the energy system is transforming and the demand for such professionals will only grow,” she noted.

The parties also discussed the establishment of training centers and cooperation with equipment manufacturers. It was agreed to define pilot enterprises and regions, develop a work plan, and launch practical implementation in the near future.
