During the Energy Platform held as part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2026), NPC Ukrenergo signed a series of agreements with international partners aimed at restoring and strengthening the resilience of Ukraine’s energy sector.

  • Ukrenergo and the German Development Bank (KfW) signed a grant agreement worth EUR 11 million. The funding will be used to improve the efficiency of electricity transmission through Ukraine’s high-voltage grid and enhance the reliable operation of the power system.

Germany remains one of Ukraine’s key energy partners and one of the largest donors supporting Ukraine’s energy sector since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Since 2022, the German Government, through KfW, has provided Ukrenergo with more than EUR 334 million in grants and loans. These funds have financed the procurement of high-voltage equipment, specialized emergency recovery vehicles, the reconstruction and construction of transmission lines, and the protection of critical energy infrastructure.

  • Ukrenergo and Sweden’s development finance institution Swedfund signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing cooperation in the following areas:

- strengthening the resilience and reliability of Ukraine’s electricity transmission system;
- integrating renewable energy sources and energy storage systems into the power system;
- advancing the digitalization of power system management and introducing modern technological solutions.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Sweden has supplied Ukrenergo with high-voltage equipment and transformer oil, while also making one of the largest contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund—nearly EUR 260 million.

  • As previously announced, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide EUR 90 million to strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s power system and establish strategic equipment reserves. The relevant agreement was signed on the sidelines of URC2026 by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso. The financing will be provided to Ukrenergo to reinforce the resilience of Ukraine’s electricity system.
