Energy workers are expected to restore electricity supply to all consumers by the end of the day. At the initial stage, however, due to grid constraints, power will be restored on a rotating basis.

The Russian attack initially left around 200,000 consumers without electricity. As of now, approximately 4,500 consumers remain without power.

Energy workers have to introduce temporary emergency outages while repair work is underway, as repairs cannot be carried out on energised equipment. The Ministry of Energy, together with NPC Ukrenergo, is coordinating restoration efforts.

As a reminder, on 24 October, Russia launched a massive drone attack on energy infrastructure in Sumy region. The enemy targeted electrical substations supplying electricity across the region, including the city of Konotop. These energy facilities have been targeted by Russian attacks repeatedly.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine regularly provides equipment from its hubs to energy companies in Sumy region, whose facilities are frequently targeted by Russian attacks. Nearly 423 tonnes of humanitarian aid have been delivered to the region this year alone.
