Ukrainian Energy Workers Receive State Awards from the President of Ukraine

28 October 2025, 19:45

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy has presented state awards to Ukrainian energy workers. The announcement was made by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk on her official Facebook page.

“It is a great honor for me to stand beside the people who, every day across the country, hold the energy shield and ensure Ukraine’s energy resilience. Today, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy honored exactly such people with state awards. As the Head of State rightly noted, our energy workers are doing incredible things — and our gratitude to them must be commensurate,” the Minister wrote.

State awards were presented to:

  • Serhii Tytarenko, Viktor Martynenko, and Andrii Yevmenov from Sumy region;
  • Artur Obolenskyi from Chernihiv region;
  • Oleksandr Seredenko from Kyiv;
  • Dmytro Stepanov and Serhii Shevchenko from Kharkiv;
  • Roman Miniailenko from Zaporizhzhia;
  • Maksym Tanitovskyi from Odesa.

“They do not hold weapons in their hands, but thanks to them the country endures even in its darkest hours. Every kilometer of restored power line, every reconnected substation, every home, hospital, and school brought back to light — that is their feat,” emphasized Hrynchuk.

The Minister noted that among energy workers are also those who gave their lives for light in Ukraine — and their heroism remains forever in the nation’s memory. President Zelenskiy posthumously awarded the Order ‘For Courage’ to Anatolii Savchenko, a driver who was killed during an enemy shelling of a Chernihivoblenergo repair crew — the same team that came under a drone attack while carrying out restoration works at one of the facilities damaged by Russia. Eternal memory and deepest respect to the hero.

“I thank every energy worker for your selfless and heroic labor, for your courage, resilience, and immense contribution to the welfare and life support of our country. Your feat is truly invaluable. Each of you is part of the great story of the Ukrainian indomitable spirit. Each of you is a hero,” the Minister emphasized.
