The energy partnership between our countries is gaining significant importance, particularly amid Ukraine's efforts to establish a sustainable and decentralized energy system.
On December 2, a meeting of the coordination committee of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership (UDEPP) took place. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, representatives of the Danish Energy Agency, as well as Ukraine's Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP), the State Agency on Energy Efficiency, NPC Ukrenergo, the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU), and STFalkon company.
"We highly value our partnership with our Danish colleagues, which has demonstrated significant results and implemented crucial and effective projects over the years. We are grateful for this cooperation, which is becoming even more important under current conditions as Ukraine works on creating a sustainable and decentralized energy system based on modern and energy-efficient technologies," said Mykola Kolisnyk.
Denmark will continue to support Ukraine in these challenging times, noted the ambassador. This support will include financial instruments and the implementation of specific regional cooperation projects.
The parties acknowledged the effectiveness of projects implemented this year, particularly the creation of a Catalogue of Critical Technologies for Ukraine's Energy Sector and the development of a mobile application that enables Ukrainian users to help balance the system, reducing energy supply constraints.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation to enhance the energy resilience of regions and the success of such collaborations, particularly in the Mykolaiv region.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted prospects for developing cooperation in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the gas sector.
During the meeting, the work program of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership for 2025 was approved. The program includes activities aimed at the development of sustainable energy, renewable energy sources, as well as the potential for energy efficiency and savings in buildings.
