The Norwegian government has decided to allocate nearly $100 million to Ukraine for the purchase of imported natural gas.

“The timely and systematic assistance of the Norwegian government is extremely important for ensuring Ukraine's energy security,” said Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Grynychuk. “This demonstrates the unwavering solidarity of our international partners and their willingness to assist in the implementation of energy projects and the strengthening of the independence of the Ukrainian energy sector.”

The funds received will be used by the Naftogaz of Ukraine group to build up sufficient gas reserves ahead of the heating season.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expresses its gratitude to the Norwegian government for its contribution to strengthening Ukraine's energy security.

We thank the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway for its effective work in support of enhancing Ukraine’s energy security.
