Humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan has arrived in Ukraine to support its energy sector. The shipment includes more than 50 types of high- and low-voltage cables, generators of varying capacities, and transformer equipment.

“This assistance was provided under the agreement on the donation of energy equipment for the restoration of energy infrastructure,” stated Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk on her official Linkedin page.

She noted that Ukraine and Azerbaijan concluded this agreement on August 11 of this year, following the announcement of Azerbaijan’s allocation of USD 2 million from its reserve fund for the purchase and delivery of electrical equipment.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Azerbaijan has delivered 125 humanitarian shipments to Ukraine with a total weight of 2,110 tons and a value exceeding USD 11.5 million. This aid has included generators, power transformers, transformer substations, cable products, and other critical equipment,” the Minister of Energy emphasized.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, this is the fourth agreement on humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan to Ukraine's energy sector.

“I extend my gratitude to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for supporting the international track in the energy sector. I am deeply grateful to the people of Azerbaijan and to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for standing with Ukraine in this difficult time. My special thanks also go to the representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan for their role in strengthening our relations with strategic partners,” Svitlana Grynchuk stated.

According to the Minister, support from Baku remains critically important for Ukraine. This cooperation strengthens Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which continues to suffer daily attacks by the aggressor. Every resource provided enables energy workers to respond swiftly to damage and restore facilities more quickly, returning light and heat to the homes of millions of Ukrainians.

The shipment was received in Ukraine by Deputy Minister of Energy for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization Roman Andarak, together with First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Farid Babaev.
