Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk announced this during the live broadcast of the “United News” telethon.
“Ukraine is proceeding according to plan in preparing for the 2025–2026 heating season across all areas we have outlined. This includes restoration and repair work to ensure equipment operates reliably throughout the heating period, and the accumulation of essential resource reserves,” she noted.
The Minister emphasized that the planned injection of gas into storage is ongoing, alongside the accumulation of coal and fuel oil reserves. Work also continues to establish a reserve of critical equipment and to strengthen the physical protection of energy facilities.
At the same time, the key challenge in preparing for the autumn-winter period remains enemy attacks, Svitlana Grynchuk stressed. Russia continues to target energy infrastructure daily across various regions of Ukraine, particularly in frontline areas.
The Minister reported that the Ukrainian energy system is currently operating stably, and the country is optimistic about navigating the winter, largely thanks to support from international partners. Assistance from the EBRD, Norway, and the European Investment Bank for the procurement of imported gas is particularly critical.
Svitlana Grynchuk assured that energy sector specialists are working through multiple winter scenarios and are preparing for each of them.
