Ukraine and Finland Develop Joint Projects in Energy Storage

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine, a working meeting took place between representatives of state-owned companies “Ukrenergo,” “Ukrhydroenergo,” the Market Operator, “Ukrainian Distribution Networks,” and the management of the Finnish energy company Cactos.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the installation of energy storage systems. Oleg Kapeliush, Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning and European Integration Directorate at the Ministry of Energy, emphasized that the development of the energy storage market plays a key role in ensuring the resilience and stability of Ukraine’s energy system during wartime.

Representatives of Ukrainian energy companies expressed interest in developing cooperation with Cactos, a leading provider of comprehensive services for the design, installation, and maintenance of battery energy storage systems.

The parties discussed technical, financial, and legislative opportunities for implementing joint projects. A representative of the Ministry of Energy thanked the Finnish government and business sector for reliable support to Ukraine’s energy sector for over three years of war and expressed confidence that cooperation between Ukrainian and Finnish energy companies will continue.
