Ukraine's Minister of Energy, German Galushchenko, urged foreign businesses to actively invest in energy projects in Ukraine, without waiting for the war to end. Amid the rapid transformation of Ukraine’s energy sector and the unprecedented simplification of business conditions, the energy sector has become extremely attractive to investors.
“There are representatives of private companies here. So, I ask you to be active, discuss issues, and sign contracts. Ukraine has enormous potential to become an energy hub for Europe. In many areas: electricity production, exports, the gas sector—gas extraction, gas storage. Many issues. Biomethane, hydrogen. You should seize this opportunity now,” the minister emphasized during the High-Level Political Panel on “Priorities for the Recovery of Ukraine's Energy Sector – EU Support and Financing Needs” at the Rebuild Ukraine 2024 conference in Warsaw.
In the context of the war, the Ukrainian government has streamlined permitting procedures for the launch of new projects, especially in the field of electricity generation.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is open to discussions with investors on the next steps and mechanisms to simplify their operations in Ukraine.
“You know that energy projects take time. So, take advantage of this opportunity now, at the very least, obtain all the necessary permits and documents. Be ready to start real actions the day after our victory,” German Galushchenko stressed.
