The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has allocated an additional SEK 600 million (approximately EUR 56.38 million) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. As a result, Sweden’s total contribution to the Fund has increased to EUR 259.5 million.

The new contribution has a broad target purpose, enabling resources to be directed to the most urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector. The funds are expected to support the repair and restoration of facilities damaged by Russian attacks, the procurement of critically important equipment, and the provision of passive protection systems for energy infrastructure.

“According to the latest estimates by the World Bank, the total recovery needs of Ukraine’s energy sector amount to USD 90.6 billion. We are carrying out repair and restoration works around the clock and have already begun preparations for the next heating season. Sweden’s new contribution to the Fund is a significant support for our energy sector during this challenging period, and we sincerely thank our partners for this assistance,” said First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Since November 2025, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund has mobilized over EUR 582 million in confirmed contributions. In total, the Fund has received support from 37 international donors.

Since its launch in spring 2022, the Fund has concluded more than 1,000 supply contracts worth approximately EUR 850 million. Of this amount, over EUR 618 million has already been delivered in the form of equipment, services, and protection measures to more than 60 Ukrainian energy companies.
