Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a series of bilateral meetings with international partners on the sidelines of the G7 Energy Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto. The discussions focused on new technologies and resources needed to ensure a stable and successful heating season in Ukraine.

With Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kenji Yamada, the Minister confirmed further cooperation under JICA assistance programs. Svitlana Grynchuk expressed her gratitude to Japan for its consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector — from providing equipment for infrastructure restoration to advancing projects aimed at strengthening energy resilience and developing renewable energy.

During her meeting with Ontario’s Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the energy sector. Ontario, as a Canadian leader in clean energy, is actively developing nuclear generation and small modular reactor (SMR) technologies, experience that is particularly valuable for Ukraine. The parties highlighted the positive results of cooperation with Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation, which are already supplying energy equipment to Ukraine, and agreed to explore additional deliveries of generators and grid equipment.

Svitlana Grynchuk expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s partners for their significant contribution to strengthening the country’s energy resilience.

“Thanks to the support of our allies, Ukraine is confidently preparing for the heating season and continues to hold the energy front,” emphasized Svitlana Grynchuk.
