Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk took part in a meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, all members of the Government, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk. During the meeting, ministers reported on the first one hundred days of the renewed Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the key tasks for the next hundred days.
"Received a number of instructions from the President, in particular, to urgently ensure 100% financing for gas imports – 70% of the required amount has already been raised. Together with Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, we must also ensure the implementation of agreements with international partners regarding financing and the supply of necessary equipment for power generation," said Svitlana Grynchuk.
The Minister of Energy reported that over the past 100 days, more than EUR 113 million has already been raised for the Energy Support Fund. An additional EUR 33.1 million in contributions has been pledged by international partners. These funds allow Ukraine to continue purchasing critical energy equipment for rapid repairs after enemy attacks.
An energy-independent social infrastructure is being created — within the first 100 days, 17 solar power plants were installed for hospitals under the government program “Ray of Hope.” A new program of free solar panels for schools was launched, with a budget of EUR 16.5 million.
"We continue improving business conditions for enterprises in the fuel and energy complex. Currently, the duration of energy equipment procurement procedures has been reduced by 21 days. Due to deregulation, the time needed for repairs of gas transmission system (GTS) facilities has been shortened by six months, and the time for documentation for the construction and reconstruction of GTS elements has been reduced by four to eight months. These decisions increase the reliability of the United Energy System of Ukraine, minimize blackout risks, and stabilize power supply for the population and industry. Accelerated reconstruction of GTS elements also enhances system flexibility and ensures the possibility of reverse gas flows," the Minister emphasized.
According to her, the entire government team, together with local authorities and energy companies, is working to ensure Ukraine successfully passes through this heating season. All necessary repairs have been carried out, equipment and fuel reserves have been accumulated, and cooperation with international partners continues.
"Grateful to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko for their leadership in promoting Ukraine’s energy interests at the international level. We are doing everything possible to make sure Ukrainian homes remain warm and bright through the fourth winter of war," Svitlana Grynchuk remarked.
