Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk, during a working visit to Uzhhorod as part of a government delegation headed by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, took part in a series of strategically important meetings aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s energy resilience and European integration.

During a meeting with Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico and negotiations with Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova, Svitlana Grynchuk discussed specific steps to deepen bilateral cooperation.

“As President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has emphasized, the potential for cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia to strengthen the energy resilience of both countries is enormous. We are already translating this potential into practical solutions,” noted Svitlana Grynchuk.

According to her, the two countries have made significant progress in implementing projects to expand interconnection capacity between the Ukrainian and Slovak energy systems, particularly on the Mukachevo – Velke Kapusany line. This project, financed under the Ukraine Facility program, will significantly increase future opportunities for electricity export and import.

Svitlana Grynchuk stressed that a key priority in bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector is the diversification of supply routes.

“This is a shared priority. We are ready to develop alternative gas supply routes to the region and work together on projects that will strengthen Central Europe’s energy security,” emphasized the Minister.

The Minister of Energy also met with business representatives from the Zakarpattia region: “It is extremely important for us to understand the region’s needs and the main concerns of entrepreneurs. Special attention was given to the development of renewable energy, support programs, and financing. These issues have been noted and require further work at the state level. We agreed to maintain ongoing technical dialogue to identify optimal solutions.”
