Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grynchuk, met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna.
During the dialogue, they discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, including the development of new nuclear generation capacities in Ukraine, advancement of the uranium industry, the introduction of U.S. technologies, and the diversification of gas supply sources and routes. According to the Minister, these measures will strengthen Ukraine’s energy security and enhance its position in European and global energy markets.
“Ukraine has a significant portfolio of projects supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as well-established collaboration between Ukrainian and American companies in the nuclear sector. It is important to continue developing this partnership and leverage it to enhance Ukraine’s energy resilience,” emphasized Svitlana Grynchuk.
The Minister also held a series of meetings with representatives of leading U.S. companies and nuclear organizations. The discussions focused on global energy trends and ways to apply them to the development of Ukraine’s energy sector. Separately, during her meeting with Chris Wright, the current situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP was addressed.
Ukraine’s Minister of Energy expressed gratitude to the United States for a strategic partnership that strengthens Ukraine and helps overcome challenges amid the war.
