Svitlana Grynchuk: Restoration Works Complicated by Ongoing Enemy Shelling

The situation in Ukraine’s power system remains under control, and no emergency outage schedules have been introduced in any region by the Dispatch Center of Ukrenergo, the national transmission system operator. At the same time, the restoration work of energy crews continues to be complicated by constant enemy shelling.

This was reported by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk during a broadcast of the national telethon “United News.”

“At present, the situation in the power system is complicated by ongoing Russian attacks, yet it remains under control. No emergency outages are being applied in any region, and only the Chernihiv energy hub is operating under hourly power outage schedules,” the Minister stated.

Ms. Grynchuk emphasized that energy workers are conducting round-the-clock restoration work, even as the enemy deliberately targets infrastructure and repair crews. On October 11, two employees of Chernihivoblenergo were killed as a result of Russian attacks, and on October 12, two energy workers were injured at a substation in the Boryspil district.

“This is the price Ukraine is currently paying for light... Unfortunately, such incidents are becoming increasingly frequent. Russian forces have no qualms about targeting repair and energy crews who are doing everything possible to restore electricity to consumers and ensure Ukrainians regain access to power,” the Minister added.

Svitlana Grynchuk noted that responsible electricity consumption by Ukrainians, particularly during morning and evening peak hours, helps maintain the stability and controllability of the power system. She also emphasized that, when necessary, Ukraine uses electricity imports from neighboring European countries to support system balancing and ensure stable operation.
