Repair and restoration campaigns in preparation for the 2025–2026 heating season are proceeding according to plan, with some facilities even ahead of schedule.
Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk shared this information during the national telethon “United News.”
“Our number one task is to prepare all nuclear generation units to operate without interruption for yet another winter. Currently, the last two units are under maintenance, and we plan to complete all this work by October,” the Minister said.
She emphasized that preparation for winter is successfully progressing at thermal and hydro facilities as well, distributed generation capacities are being expanded, and energy resources are being accumulated, including the necessary reserves of natural gas.
“Close cooperation with the military continues to strengthen the protection of energy facilities. We are also advancing work on passive protection measures, which have proven effective,” Svitlana Grynchuk noted.
The Minister stressed that, given the ongoing hostile attacks, energy sector teams are preparing for various winter scenarios, including checking the readiness of critical infrastructure facilities with backup power sources.
